Our much-loved mother, grandmother, and aunt, MaryEllen (Foco) Britton of Bay City, Michigan passed away early Saturday morning March 24, 2018 at her residence. Age 84 years. She was born January 13, 1934 in Bay City, Michigan. She worked in the payroll departments at Chevrolet and Dow Chemical Company, and also was employed at both Second National and Bay Chemical Banks. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Parish. MaryEllen enjoyed watching television court shows and working on puzzle books, but she especially loved spending time with her family.
On September 6, 1958 she was married in St. James Catholic Church to Jarvis X. Britton, who predeceased her. Surviving MaryEllen's passing are three daughters, Barbara Britton, Sandra (Todd) DuBois and Kristie (Stephen) Molinaro. Also her grandchildren; David Crouder, Nicole Bilhimer, Catherine Harris, Kristofer and Daniel Molinaro, step-grandchildren Grace, Nicholas and Eliza DuBois, and her nephew Hunter (Jolene) James and niece Shelly (Dean) Hunter. MaryEllen is also survived by special friends Florence Jarvis and Jim and Helen Naert. Besides her beloved husband, MaryEllen was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Marion (Lambert) Foco, her sister, Barbara Moultane, and her brother Richard Foco.
The family would like to thank the McLaren Bay Region Hospice team for the care that MaryEllen received. We would also like to especially thank her wonderful nurse Barb Ritter and her husband Ernie, for the many kindnesses they showed to our mother.
Private Funeral Liturgy took place Monday, April 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena. Celebrant was Rev Fr. John S. Sarge with private Rite of Committal in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Arrangements were entrusted to the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
