Matthew D. Clements

Matthew David Clements known by his friends as "Honda Matt or MacGyver Matt "Passed away on Oct. 24, 2018 in a traffic accident on Thomas St. in Bay City at the age of 32. Born in Bay City on December 6, 1985.
Matthew was very proud of his children, Ivy Mae Clements and Alo Kane Clements. He loved being a daddy and making his children happy. He did crazy things to get laughs and grins on their faces. They went all over town together, played games, rode bikes, read books, had cousin sleep-overs, watched movies, jumped on the trampoline, went camping and he fixed up good food
Matt graduated, "Class of 2003" from John Glenn High School. He worked nights at Michigan Sugar Company as a laborer/lab technician. He wanted his children to get good grades in school and be good friends with others. Matt would always help his friends fixing cars and everything else. He built his own canoe one summer. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Matt lived his life to the fullest on his motorcycles. Matt loved to ride. The open road was more his home then anywhere.
Matthew is loved and missed by his parents; Kevin (Michele) Clements of Bay City, Connie Lee (John) Tierney of Midland.  His closest companion Monica Laux of Clinton Township. He is forever in the hearts of his brothers & sisters-in-law, James (Babsi) Clements of Harbor Springs and Daniel (Heather) Clements of Flushing. A cherished Star in the heavens for his sister Rebekah (Luke Schaefer) of Bay City and his nieces Lacey Marks & Riley Clements also nephews Derek Marks & Owen Schaefer and step sisters, Shannon Carrier, Lindsey Walters and Laurie Tierney. He remains the missing link of the family to numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration visitation of his life will be held at Gephart Funeral Home, 201 W Midland St. Bay City, MI on November 3, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Come with your best memories and your cell phones to share pictures. Matthew will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery next to his grandparents Bob and Betty Clements.
