Rau, Maureen A. (McKie) Maureen passed away early Thursday morning, May 12, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center. The daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Ray) McKie was born April 16, 1918 in Bay City. Age 93 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Maureen worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital and Tolfree Hospital in West Branch. She lived at Midland Manor, lead the first Westside St. Patrick's Day parade, enjoyed playing cards at K of C #414, golfing, sewing and a real cold Altes. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Thomas and Carol Rau of Port Charlotte, FL, Carl "Bud" and Sharon Rau of Woodstock, GA and Kathleen "Kate" Rau of Texas/Chicago, her grandchildren; Gail Marinari of FL, Mark (Kathy) Rau of VA, Ken Krause of TX, Debbie (Steve) Barkiewicz of Swartz Creek, Michael Krause of Bay City, Brad (Lori) Rau FL., and Janelle (Matt) Rau-Clauson of Chicago, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild as well as her wonderful nieces and nephews and her special "cousins". In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband; Stanley Rau, her daughter; Mary Margaret Krause, her sister and brothers. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Monday, May 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm with the Rite of Committal following in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Maureen will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the Bay County Library System-Sage Branch or a Literacy program of your choice or to the family to be used towards a Bay City memorial in he honor.
