Maxine Vero (McChesney) Johnson

Maxine passed away early Tuesday morning, July 29, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 95 years. She was born December 5, 1918 in Bay City. Maxine retired from Made Rite Potato Chip Co. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the altar society and the sewing group. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses; Judy and James Hodder of Beaver, PA, Randall Lee and Karen Johnson, Michael and Yvonne Johnson all of Bay City, her daughter-in-law; Geraldine Johnson of Bay City, fourteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one sister and brother -in-law; Mary Jane and Robert Hall of Flint, her cousin; Madeline Bledsoe of AZ. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father; Myrtle and Ernest Abee, her husband; Harold A. Johnson in1992, one son; Harold G. Johnson in 1996. Funeral Services will take place Friday August, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Andreas H. Teich with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive family and friends on Thursday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Maxine will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
