Maynard passed away early Monday morning, November 3, 2014 at Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw, MI. Age 92 years. The son of the late William Osro and Effie (Shoffner) White was born June 21, 1922 in Lofollette, TN. Maynard was a retired chef. He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, fishing and going to the casino. He served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He is survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law; Margie Prater, Connie and Eddie Cox, two sisters-in-law; Betty and Mildred White, many nieces and nephews, his Michigan family; Gordon and Lois Mammel, their children; Mike and Deanne Mammel, Kristi and Jeff Feinauer, Wendy and Randy Pfau, Marilyn Bowersock, her children; Jessica and Mike Dore, Jill and Jerod Wrzesinski, his great grandchildren from Michigan; Bayley, Morgan, Grant, Brady, Rachel, Blake, Colt, Gavin, Drew and Ella. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Vera White, his life companion; Lydene Mammel, four brothers; Curtis, Harvey, Sherman and Robert White, Marilyn's husband; Lee Bowersock. At Maynard's request cremation has taken place. Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council will take place Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. followed by a Memorial Service officiating will be Rev. Paul D. Theiss. The family will be present at the funeral home on Sunday to receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
