Through faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, Melba Hoerauf entered her eternal home in heaven on February 9, 2017, at the age 90. The daughter of the late J. George and M. Caroline (Eichinger) Appold was born June 27, 1926, in Frankenlust Township, Michigan. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust where she was active in the Ladies Aid and the Church Choir. Melba worked for many years at St. Hyacinth Catholic School as the head cook. She collected cookbooks, loved to cook, enjoyed gardening and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Left to cherish Melba's memories is her husband of 67 years, LeRoy W. Hoerauf who she married November 19, 1949; son, Dennis (Karen) Hoerauf; daughter, Michelle (Glen) Beesley; her grandchildren, Matthew (Celina) Hoerauf, Alan (Theresa) Beesley, Melissa Beesley, Anna Szymanski and Kevin (Jessica) Beesley; six great grandchildren; one sister, Vera Begick, one sister-in-law, Ruth Appold. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Appold. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Theodore E. Voll with private interment in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. to receive family and friends. Melba will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
