Melisa M. Kukla

Melisa passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, September 29, 2013 at her residence at the age of 34 years. She was born August 13, 1979 in Saginaw MI. Melisa was employed at McLaren Bay Region as Lead Sonographer. She was an honorary member of the Frankenlust Township Fire Dept. Melisa was a loving and devoted wife and mother who was very involved with all her children's activities. Melisa enjoyed shopping; going on family vacations, scrapbooking, attending her children's sporting events including baseball and dance. Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband; Bryan Kukla whom she married on October 5, 2002, her children; Brayden and Laney Kukla, her father; Donald Scholtz, her father-in law and mother-in-law; Jerry and Margaret Kukla, one sister and brother-in-law; Heidi and Joe Nalewyko, one brother; Don Scholtz, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her mother; Debra (Green) Scholtz. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverwalk Baptist Church (706 Joseph St., Bay City, MI 48706). Officiating will be Pastor Steve Roe with the graveside committal following in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday to receive family and friends from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Melisa will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
