Michael R. Charbonneau Jr.

Michael passed away in an accident Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the age of 43. Michael was born in Bay City, Michigan on April 14, 1980 to Michael and Kelly (Kochanny) Charbonneau. He enjoyed going on snowmobile trips with his dad, woodworking and loved watching his son play hockey. Michael was the nicest person on earth who was willing to help everyone. As a Corrections Officer, there was not a single person (on this side of the prison bars) who did not like him.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Rachel (Rodriguez) Charbonneau; son, Thomas Charbonneau; parents, Michael and Kelly (Kochanny) Charbonneau; sister, Margie (Beth) Charbonneau; brother-in-law, Jim Rodriguez; sister-in-law, Janelle (Howard) Ballard; niece, Abby Warren; nephew, Jack Warren and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Deborah Rodriguez; grandparents, Ken and Ruth Charbonneau and Ted and Nancy Kochanny and his beloved Golden Retriever, Dexter.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating is Rev. Charles Campbell with private interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home and on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to wishes of the family.
