Michael E. Fork, of Bay City, passed away early Friday morning January 21, 2011 at his residence, age 54. The son of the late Edgar & Betty (Nutt) Fork, he was born October 22, 1956 in Bay City. Michael graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1974. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1974 to 1985. Michael was then employed for 25 years by the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk. He was an avid music fan and enjoyed playing volleyball. On December 18, 1999, Michael married Valloree Dayna (Prevost) and she survives him along with his children, Wendy (Brian) Kuerbitz, Amanda (fiancé Ronnie Batt) Fork and Michael (Jami) Fork, Jr.; step-sons, Kyle and Kasey Kohlhoff; grandchildren, Trinity, Christian, Logan, Gavin, Griffon, Jubilee, Epiphany, Riley, Katie and Michael III; his grandmother, Ruth Nutt,brothers and sisters, Rick (Peggy) Fork, Kim (Karl) Phillips, Tom (Ruby) Fork and Michele (Ron) Stout; two special friends, Tim Howard and Tom Goodman; father and mother-in-law, Richard & Valloree Prevost; brothers-in-law, Rick (Joanne) Prevost and Randy (Sue) Prevost; and his aunt, uncle and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will take place at 1:00pm on Monday January 24, 2011 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Michael's son, Rev. Michael Fork, Jr., with interment and Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and on Monday from 12:00pm until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Home & Hospice Advantage.
