Michael J. Kowalski of Bay City, Michigan Mike, age 51, passed away Thursday, March 15th, 2012 following a lingering illness. He was born January 24th, 1961 to the late Richard Sr. and Betty Anne (McAlinden) Kowalski. On September 23rd, 1995 he married the love of his life, Susan Maglione.They shared their love with their children, Steven (Heather) Meixner, Terra Kowalski (Chris Meldrum), Aaron, Ian , Alyssa, and Ivy Kowalski, and his grandson Ayden Michael Snyder. Throughout the years Mike worked at various jobs in the Bay City area. He was a talented guitarist and was a member of many bands, most recently playing bass guitar with the Steve Drzewicki Band. He shared his love of music with each of his children, his family and friends. Mike was also a gifted artist and a former Golden Gloves boxer; he loved to watch boxing with his sons and brothers. In addition to his children Mike is survived by his brothers and sisters, Richard Jr. (Susan) Kowalski, Kathleen (Art) Moultane, Marilyn Weiler, Stanley (Marlene) Kowalski, Raymond (Terri) Kowalski, Dolores (Thomas) Meier, Geraldine (David) Gould, Virgil (Teena) Kowalski, and Joseph (Ann) Kowalski, his mother and father -in-law, Anthony and Patricia Maglione, brothers-in-law, Anthony (Claire) Maglione, Danny Maglione, and sisters-in -law, Marianne (Scott) Hilliard, Sheila (Kenny) Chalk, Patricia Maglione and fiancé Drew Pollack, and Stephanie (Scott) Calisti, many nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends. He was predeceased by his wife Susan, whom he is now joyously reunited with in heaven; also his parents, Richard Sr. and Betty Anne Kowalski, an infant brother, Stephen, and a nephew, William Weiler, Jr. At the request of Mr. Kowalski cremation has taken place. The Memorial Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers memorial cards for wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
