Michael passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 78. The son of the late Robert and Edith (Bruzewski) Trepkowski was born June 25, 1945 in Norman, Oklahoma. Michael Served in the 101st. Calvary in the U.S. Army and was retired from General Motors after 34 years of service. He enjoyed being a coin dealer, hunting and going to the casino.
Michael is survived by his wife, the former Kathryn Zacharko, whom he married on May 11, 1968; two children, Debra Sharon and William Trepkowski; one granddaughter, Darby (Wesley) Napieralski; one sister, Phyllis Trepkowski; two brothers-in-law, James (Kathleen) Zacharko and Richard (Barbara) Zacharko and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles and Richard Trepkowski.
At the request of Michael, cremation has taken place. Military honors and inurnment will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
