Michael C. "Mike" Welter

Mike passed away at Covenant Health Care- Cooper in Saginaw on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at the age of 52. He was born on December 21, 1966 in Bay City, Michigan. Mike was employed by Morley Corporation. He had a great love for his family, but his children held a special place in his heart and he was very proud they were all members of the Bay City Central Marching Band. He also enjoyed music, football, hockey, reading Marvel & DC Comics, and going to the theater to watch movies and to eat theater popcorn.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife the former Jodi L. Gaskin whom he married May 14, 1994; his children, Nola (her boyfriend, Alex Fredrickson) Welter, Amanda Welter, Aaron (his girlfriend, Julia Frank) Welter and Jack Welter; many friends of his children he considered his extra children; his mother, Janice "Jan" Welter, his brother, Anthony (Julie) Welter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Libby Howard; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Kristin) Gaskin, Kelly Kastros, Matt Howard, Jamie (Chuck) Morgan, Kate (Reece) Compton; his nieces and nephews, Tierney, Nicholas, Sarah, Mina, J.P., Spero, Nathaniel, Taylor, Jordan, Alyssa, Bailey, Rylee, Faith, Mackenzie and Tiffany; several cousins; his best friends, Terry (Heather) Leser and Lance (Kathy) Bushnell. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Welter and his son, Sean Welter. "To a man who was a dad, but never had to be"
At the request of Mike cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Friday, August 9, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home.Officiating will be Pastor Rob Schmidt. The family will be present at the funeral home on Friday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Bay City Central Marching Band or to the Donor's Favorite Charity.
