Mildred H. (Wuepper)Janz, 80, of Bay City, Michigan, died on November 16, 2012 at McLaren-Bay Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Millie was born on November 20, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan to Albert and Meta (Lutz) Hammerbacher. She worked on her family's farm and as a housekeeper until she married Howard E. Wuepper on April 14, 1951. They ran a farm in Monitor Township until Howard's death on August 28, 1957. On November 12, 1960, she married Edwin S. Janz, who owned Ed Janz Auto Repair until he passed away on July 12, 1974. Millie had a deep faith in God and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved going to family gatherings and making special treats for her grandchildren. She was keenly interested in current events, loved animals, gardening, baking and watching sports - especially the Detroit Tigers. She leaves five daughters: Susan Wuepper (Marty) Crook; Ruth Wuepper (Tim) Sutton Jean Wuepper (Don) Mead; Sharon Janz (Jim) Brown; and Kate Janz (Todd) Schisler; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters Esther Neumeyer and Florence Mammel, brother Rudy Hammerbacher and several sisters and brothers in-law, many nieces and nephews and her faithful dog Pal. Millie was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; beloved son Mark Janz; sister Marie Bothe; brother Al Hammerbacher; grandson Kevin Mead and her great-granddaughter Hannah Crook, who also passed away on November 16, 2012. Visitation will be held at Gephart Funeral Home, 201 W. Midland St., Bay City, on Monday, November 19, from 2:00 p.m. t0 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 20 at 12:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 510 W. Ivy St., Bay City, with Rev. William H. Allwardt officiating. She will lie in state until shortly before the funeral service. Interment will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to Zion Lutheran Church. What God ordains is always good.
