Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on June 20, 2015 at the age of 104. She was born being the 13th of the late Jacob and Marie (Lueck) Spitz in Saginaw on September 29, 1910. Mildred married Junior (Jack) Shotwell on February 16, 1935 in Bay City. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1981. She worked many campaigns at Monitor Sugar. She loved traveling, playing cards, dominos and trips to the casino. Her artistic talent designing and creating greeting cards with dried and pressed flowers was her passion. She became well known in the community and beyond, and making many acquaintances which developed into lasting friendships. She was the oldest member of Zion Lutheran Church of Freeland. Surviving to cherish her memory is daughter; Joyce (Donald) Kross of Freeland and son; Dale (Phyllis) Shotwell of Bay City, grandsons; Gregg (Debra) Baldwin of Manhattan, ILL, Jeffrey Baldwin of Thornton, CO, Jay (Kendi) Baldwin of Saginaw, Twp., six great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Stone Crest Assisted Living for their loving and compassionate care. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Schmidt from Zion Lutheran Church in Freeland with the committal following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services to receive family and friends.
