Minnie D. Rowland Mrs. Minnie D. Rowland passed away early Friday morning July 6, 2012 at the home of her daughter Carolynn in Detroit at the age of 89. The daughter of the late Fred & Alma (Hopkins) Dadow, she was born May 6, 1923 in Jackson, MI. During WWII, Minnie worked at the Kellogg's Plant in Battle Creek. Together with her husband Eugene, they owned The Steak House Restaurant in Marshall from 1946 until 1956. Minnie and Eugene then lived in several cities throughout Michigan including Dearborn, Marquette, Lansing, Midland and Bay City. Minnie has spent the last few years in Lapeer, Cleveland, Ohio and lastly Detroit. Wherever she lived she was always a faithful member of a local Baptist church and also the Christian Assembly Church in Bay City. More than anything, Minnie was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Rowland was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Eugene R. Rowland on October 24, 2000. She is survived by her five children, Eileen Renaud of Dearborn, Dr. Carolynn Rowland of Detroit, Rev. William (Mary Jean) Rowland of Metamora, Rev. David (Connie) Rowland of Parma, Ohio and Ronald (Ann) Rowland of Chicago; grandchildren, Christine (Lou) Beatty (Rowland), Timothy (Sharon) Rowland, Peter (Allyson) Rowland, Stephen (Malissa) Rowland, Jennifer (Peter) McNamee (Rowland), Suzanne (Louie) Wacker (Rowland), Joseph (Valerie) Rowland and Jessica Rowland; and great-grandchildren, Maya Beatty, Lauren Beatty, Chloe Rowland, William Rowland, Stephen Rowland, Reese McNamee, Mikayla McNamee, Aiden McNamee, Makenzie McNamee, Brady Wacker and Addyson Wacker. Minnie was also preceded in death by her siblings, Donald Allen Dadow, Douglas Austin Dadow, Madgle Una Miller (Dadow), William Henry Dadow, Anna Belle Masters (Dadow), Ula Barber (Dadow) and Wauneta Alma Dadow. The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday July 9, 2012 at The Baptist Church of Hadley, 4566 Pratt Rd., Hadley, MI 48440. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Humrichous. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday July 9th at Floral Gardens Cemetery, 2215 W. Cass Ave. Rd., Bay City, MI 48706. Mrs. Rowland will lie instate at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
