Myrtle Irene (Gunther) Behmlander

Our loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Monday evening December 28, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 79 years. The daughter of the late George and Alma (Shirey) Gunther was born March 26, 1936 in Kawkawlin, Michigan and has resided in Bay County all of her life. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and its Ladies Aid. She graduated from T.L. Handy High School, enjoyed flower gardening and cherished her Hallmark Collections.
On May 11, 1957 she married her husband of fifty eight years Arthur J. "Art" Behmlander and he is left behind to cherish her memories along with one son and daughter-in-law; Glenn Allen and Kelly Behmlander of Bay City, two grandchildren; Austin and Colby Behmlander, one sister; Josephine Herzberg of Bay City, two brothers and two sisters-in-law; Edward and Mary Gunther and Russell and Mary Gunther of Essexville, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; Norma Weiss, Arliss Arnold, Charles and Sandra Behmlander and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents George and Alma she was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law; Richard Herzberg, Otto Arnold and Wilmar Weiss.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Sunday January 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt with private inurnment in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Behmlander will be taken to the church on Sunday to lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
