Nancy C. Burghdorf

Mrs. Nancy C. Burghdorf, of Bay City, passed away Thursday evening, March 19, 2015 at the Bay Shores Nursing Center, age 85. The daughter of the late Albert O. and Velma L. (Baker) Smith, she was born on February 14, 1930 in Tulsa, OK. Nancy served in the Women's Army Air Corps. and worked at Myles Insurance in Standish for many years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Nancy enjoyed reading, her pets and spending time with family. Mrs. Burghdorf is survived by her sister, Patricia Puffer of Bay City; a sister-in-law, Margaret Rokosz of Standish; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her first husband, SSgt. Freeman Secrest in 1964 and her second husband, Harvey Burghdorf in 2009; her brother, Albert O. Smith in 2014; and a brother-in-law, Mike Puffer in 2004. It was Nancy's desire for cremation to take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Temple.
