Mrs. Powrozek passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. Age 77 years. The daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Ann V. (Lockwood) Gillis Sr. was born September 5, 1939 in Bay City, Michigan. Mrs. Powrozek was a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Bridgeport, Michigan. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, volunteered at the American Cancer Society and organized the class reunions for Bay City Central High School. Mrs. Powrozek is survived by her husband of twelve years, Ronald J. Powrozek; three children, Steven R. (Julie) Smith, Susan R. (Dean) Kukla and Scott R. (Cristi) Smith; four step children, David Powrozek, Shannon (Terrence) McInerny, Brad (Marcia) Powrozek and Devon (Mark) Godbey; three grandchildren, Ally and Tia Kukla and Fischer Smith; ten step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Doris Spencer; one brother, Larry (Maryann) Gillis; one step daughter-in-law, Billie Jo Powrozek; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey and James Smith and one step son, Greg Powrozek. At the request of Mrs. Powrozek cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. John Mancini, OSFS with private inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
