Naomi R. Allen

Ruth passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Bay Shores Nursing Center at the age of 85 years. Ruth was born on March 29, 1933 to the late Leo and Alfretta (Bennett) Penney in St. Louis, Michigan. On May 11, 1963 she married George Allen and spent 55 years together. She worked for many years for the government in the census bureau and volunteered at the Saginaw VA hospital and the Bay County library system. In her spare time she enjoyed painting ceramics, camping and traveling.
Ruth is survived by her husband, George; children, Victoria (Glenn) Richards, Denise Zoellner, Kathryn (Frederick) Graves and Timothy (Lisa) Allen; grandchildren, Kristyn, Erin, Adam, Trever, Justin, Krystalina, Jamison, Jeanelle, Jeannine, Kelsey and Kourtney; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Robert Allen; grandchildren, Dion and Robin and brother, Dale Penney.
Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Micheal Kelley with committal following in Roselawn Cemetery, Saginaw. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
