Pembroke, Nathan James "Nate" Bay City, Michigan Nate passed away suddenly, Friday February 7, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region with his family at his side. Age 36 years. He was born August 5, 1977 in Bay City and was a graduate of John Glenn High School. He served in the United States Army and attended St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. On May 26, 2000 he married the former Liisa M. Tiitola and she survives along with two children; Dylan and Greysen, his father and step mother; John Daniel and Julee Pembroke of Bay City, his mother and step-father; Susan and Dr. Howard Hurt of Linwood, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Kimberly and Walter Anderson of Essexville and Danielle Pembroke of Saginaw, one brother and sister-in-law; David and Brooke Pembroke of Marshall, MI his grandmother; Evie McCullough of Bay City, one step sister and step brother-in-law; Laura and Joe Janowicz, four step brothers and four step sisters-in-law; A.J. and Jamie Hurt, Stephen and Joanie Hurt, James and Kris Hurt and Robb and Mary Hurt, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Timo and Shelley Tiitola, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Beth and Bryan Russell and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Hannu and Janice Tiitola. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with private Interment in Calvary Cemetery. The Family will receive visitors at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of the Mass. The Vigil of the Deceased will take place Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home Memorial cards for "The Wishes of the Family" for a memorial to be established at a later time will be available.
