Norbert Andrew Wilczynski, "Norb", Bay City, Michigan, our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away peacefully late Monday afternoon September 19, 2016 at the home of his son in Tawas City, Michigan. Age 93 years. The son of the late Michael and Anna (Ratkos) Wilczynski was born May 31, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan, he then moved to Belleville and relocated to Pinconning until joining the Unites States Army Corps. After the time he spent serving his country in France, Italy and Northern Africa, he returned back to Pinconning and then moved to Bay City where he resided for many years. Norb retired from Dow Chemical Company as a powerhouse operator, he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and attended Living Waters Christian Church with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his friend's polka dancing, following the Linda Lee and the Golden Jackets, had a great love for a day fishing and hunting. Most of all Mr. Wilczynski enjoyed spending time with his family and they enjoyed drinking a glass of his homemade wild grape wine.
Left behind to cherish his memories are five sons and six daughters-in-law; Larry and Karen Appold of Bay City, Michael and Nancy Wilczynski of Commerce Twp., Charles and Cheryl Appold of AuGres, Diana Wilczynski of Waterford, Francis and Twila Wilczynski of Tawas City and Brian and Lisa Wilczynski of Waterford, seventeen grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, two sisters; Eleanor Drouin of Auburn and Martha Brown of Freeland, one sister-in-law; Marion Wilkins of Midland and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Wilczynski was preceded in death by his wife the former Violet Appold, his parents Michael and Anna, the mother of his children; Florence Putt, one son; John Wilczynski, his fiancé; Shirley Schmidt, one brother; Leonard Wilkins and two brothers-in-law; Delore Drouin and Ronald Brown.
Funeral Services will take place Friday, September 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. 201 W. Midland St. Bay City, Michigan 48706. Officiating will be his son and daughter-in-law; Pastors Francis and Twila Wilczynski with interment following in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery under the auspices of the Unites States Army Air Force and the Bay County Veterans Council. The family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to "The Charity Of Their Choice".
