Norene E. Markel

Mrs. Markel passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Niche Aging Center. Age 87 years. The daughter of the late William and Ethel (Battishil) Smith was born January 2, 1931 in Whittemore, Michigan. Mrs. Markel enjoyed spending time working in her yard and working in her volunteer public ministry.

Mrs. Markel is survived by her two sons, Kevin (Peggy) Markel and Vance (Dawn) Markel; one daughter, Trina Markel; five grandchildren, Todd, Brandon, Aaron, Evan and Megan Markel. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Markel and two sisters, Ilene and Blanche Erickson.

At the request of Mrs. Markel cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, 5435 Kasemeyer Rd., Bay City, MI  48706. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family.
