Norma A. Weiss a loving mother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully at Brian’s House in the early morning hours of February 22, 2023 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 95. The daughter of the late John and Christina (Appold) Behmlander was born on December 16, 1927 in Bay County and lived here all her life. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust, where she always attended Sunday worship and was an active member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading and crocheting “scrubbies” for the Ladies Aid bake sale. On August 12, 1950 she married Wilmar (Wil) Weiss and he predeceased her on August 16, 2008, just a few days after celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Brenda Weiss. She is also survived by her sister Arliss Arnold; brothers, Arthur Behmlander and Charles (Sandra) Behmlander; sister-in-law, Luella Prime along with several nieces and nephews, and a very special great nephew, Colby Behmlander, whom she adored and spent a lot of time with. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s, Otto Arnold, Myrtle Behmlander, Erwin (Evelyn) Weiss, Norman (Ruth) Weiss and Neil Prime.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all those at Brian’s House for the wonderful care and compassion showed to Norma. A special thank you to Sue, Morgan and Rebecca for going above and beyond. You are all angels in disguise.
Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 27, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the St. Paul Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Matyas. The family will be present to receive visitors at Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Ministry Center or Brians House.
