Mr. Norman W. 'Norm' Schnell, Jr., of Kawkawlin, passed away suddenly Friday evening May 17, 2013 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital with his wife at his side. The son of the late Norman H. and Beatrice A. (Grandmason) Schnell Sr. was born April 14, 1949 in Bay City and has lived in this area all of his life. Norm retired from General Motors Powertrain as the health and safety representative after thirty nine years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. Local # 362. He had a great love for cars, especially his corvettes, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and most of all he enjoyed having breakfast with his special buddies and talking cars with his best friends. Norm is survived by his loving wife Pat Schnell, one son; Jason Schnell and his girl friend; Katie Hendley of Waterford, his special dog; Pepper, one sister and brother-in-law; Beatrice and Joe Shegitz of Swartz Creek, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Beverly Huff, John George, Gladys and Richard Spyhalski, Elaine Gerard, Bob George, Barb and Dave Ramos, RoseAnn and Scott Ireland and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor David Dunn of Kawkawlin Community Church with interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for the Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
