Orlo Charles Jones

Mr. Jones passed away early Monday morning, May 2, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side. The son of the late Clifton and Eva (Schmidt) Jones was born November 29, 1921 in Mt. Forest Township. He was retired as a union carpenter. Mr. Jones was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, built the steeple for the church and made many other improvements to the church. He enjoyed building furniture and gardening. He is survived by his wife of eighteen years; Nancy L. Jones of Kawkawlin, his children and their spouses; Barbara and Michael Gerish of Kawkawlin and Neal and Mary Ann Jones of North Carolina, his step children; Shane (Amy) Spencer of Illinois and Wade (Candice) Spencer of Arizona, his grandchildren; Zachary Gerish and Sandra Gerish, Amy Alimo and Catherine Jones, his step grandchildren; Colt and Shelby Spencer, one great grandchild; Zoe Ruth Gerish, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife;Geraldine L. Jones, two brothers; Herbert and Carl Jones and one sister; Irene Fox, and Zachary's wife; April. Funeral services will take place Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. John R. Wood with interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Jones will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
