Patricia Ann Baranek

Our strong-willed, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away following her second bout of cancer, on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Melvin Robert and Annabelle Madeline (Verity) Wilson was born July 12, 1940 in Bay City. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Campus. She worked for many years at Brissette's 6-12 Inc. and also worked at Handy and Kolb Schools. She was a member of the "Parrott Club", loved playing and coaching softball and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. She had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Patricia's family was very proud of her, she touched so many people and everyone she came in contact with became her friend. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Jay Baranek whom she married November 26, 1960, her children; Steven J. (Shelly) Baranek, Susan Marie (John) Lynk, Stacie Ann (Randall) Becker, her grandchildren; Brittany Ann Baranek, Elizabeth Joy Flood, Anthony Paul Flood, John Delbert Lynk and Grayson Jay Lynk, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, her lifelong friend; Judith Scholz and many other friends too numerous to name. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her step father; Pic Weaver, one brother; Robert Wilson and her special cousin; Tom Anderson. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of the Medical Staff and Physicians who cared for her. At Mrs. Baranek's request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Liturgy will take place Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Campus 906 S. Wenona Bay City, MI 48706. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Kevin N. Kerbawy. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive family and friends on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Wishes of the Family. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
