Patricia Marie Hammitt

Patricia Marie Hammitt Bay City, Michigan Pat passed away peacefully Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home with her family at her side. Age 87 years. She was born July 24, 1927 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a graduate of Bay City Central High School. After graduation Pat continued her education graduating from college with a Bachelor's Degree. After finishing school she went on with her career and retired in 1988 from General Motors Co. in Bay City. After her retirement she continued in the work force and was formerly employed of Walmart. Over the years Pat spent many days on the golf course and retired from playing when she was in her early80's, she enjoyed a good game of cards, traveling and most of all she enjoyed just having a good time. Left behind to cherish Pat's memories are one daughter and son-in-law; Lesley and Kyle Kleaver of Auburn, two nieces and their spouses; Jennifer and Neal Hooten and Patti and Shawn Hannah, one nephew; Jeff Frank, three great nieces, two great great nieces, two great great nephews and two special friends. Pam Smith and Bobbie Lindauer. She was preceded in death by her parents; Myron and Marie (Teachout) Kiah and one sister and brother-in-law; Shirley (Jill) and Russell Frank. A Memorial Service will take place Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church 247 N Lincoln St, Bay City, MI 48708. Officiating will be Rev. LeRoy R. Westphal with private Inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. At the request of Pat cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services to celebrate her life and share memories on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. as well as at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Humane Society of Bay County.
