Patricia Ann Pierson

Mrs. Patricia Ann Pierson, of Bay City, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday morning, January 4, 2017, age 86. The daughter of the late R. Ray and Geraldine (Ainge) O'Brien, she was born on September 24, 1930 in Saginaw. Pat was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and enjoyed entertaining, especially during the holidays. Pat loved people, and her 30 year career at Weichmann's and Younker's was very important to her.
On November 30, 1968 Pat married Hayden R. Pierson and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2011. She is survived by five children, Robert (Bette) Pierson, Barbara (Thomas) Petee, Laura (Reginald) Meirlaen, Karen (Eric) Scher and John (Katherine) Knoll; her grandchildren, Audra, Jeffrey, Ashley, Amy, Angela, Gregory, Chris, James, Jessica, Zachary, Arden and Ava; her 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jane (Jim) Russell and Bonnie (Chuck) Graves; two sisters-in-law, Marlene (Herb) Willard and Linda Pierson; and several nieces and nephews. Pat was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Knoll; a sister, Mary Lou Habermehl; and two brothers, William O'Brien and Gordon O'Brien.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to their special friends, Martie and Jeff, and to Grace Hospice, especially John, Lindsay, Jennifer and Jenny, for the wonderful care everyone gave to Pat over the past year.
The Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Temple. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
