Pat passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a brief illness on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, Michigan at the age of 91. She was born to the late Charles and Ruth (Bishop) Buckius on July 21, 1932 in Bay City, Michigan. She enjoyed doing crafts, shopping, going to the casino and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren at one of their events. Pat was well known for her ability in the kitchen and was famous for her German Potato Salad and Sugar Cookies. Many family members called her “the baby whisperer” because of her love for babies. She loved her friends at Country Meadows and recently made new friends at Symphony Tri-Cities. Pat was blessed with many people who loved her! She lived a long, full life and in her words, was ready to go to Heaven.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Debra Mosher and Tammy (John) Penkala; Eight grandchildren, Dana (Jim) Jaenicke, Sarah (Travis) Edgerton, Matloc Mosher and Brittani Bertoni, Bryan (Amy) Reder, Kenneth Penkala, Samuel (Marybeth) Penkala, Eric (Maggie) Reder and Jacob (Teegan) Penkala; great grandchildren, Lane Kiczenski, Ava McQuade, Carson Kiczenski, Lena Edgerton, Albin Reder, Liam Edgerton, Emma Reder, Nora Reder, Lucy Reder, Tess Reder, Luca Penkala, Arthur Reder, James Penkala, Esemaea Mosher and Rosalia Mosher; sister, Carol (Lynn) Louis; sister-in-law’s, Judy Buckius and Lynne (Lee) Sanford and many nieces, nephews and cousins and special friend, Sue Worthington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald Stroemer; brother, Robert Buckius; son-in-law’s, Robert Reder and Mitchell Mosher; sister-in-law, Gladys Stroemer and brother-in-law, Clarence Stroemer.

The family would like to extend a thank you to McLaren Bay Region for the excellent care she received.

Funeral service for Pat will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home with interment to follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Jane Grzegorczyk. The family will be present to receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Pats name to McLaren Bay Region or Good Samaritan Rescue Mission of Bay City.
