Our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Patrick Thomas Harder, of Bay City, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the age of 59. He was born on February 24, 1956 in Bay City. Pat graduated from John Glenn High School in 1974. He was a hardworking and respected businessman in the Bay City area for many years, owning and operating many businesses and stores. While Pat had recently sold most of his businesses, he was still the owner of JP Party Store on M-13. In his time away from his work, he enjoyed many outdoor activities and has always had a great love for animals. But most of all as a person, Pat was the most generous individual you would ever know, and he always put everyone else in his life first.
Pat is survived by his mother, Peggy Harder of Bay City; his five siblings, Dawn (Harvey) Dusseau of Houghton Lake, Tim (Stacey Bell) Harder of Bay City, Linda (Ken) Miyake of California, Roxann (Casey) Enders of Midland and Molly Rundell of Saginaw; and his lifelong friend, John Mapes.
Pat is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Sean (April) Harder and their children, Chloe, Owen and Gracie, Carrie Harder, Matthew Dusseau, Rachel (Brian) Andrews and their son, Aidan, Kenny (Maria) Miyake and their children, Carlos and Joshua, and Ann Marie Miyake; and an aunt, Madeline McDonald.
Pat was preceded in death by his father, John Harder; a sister-in-law, Kay Harder; and a brother-in-law, Bill Rundell.
It was Pat's desire for cremation to take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson. Pat's family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
