Patrick R. Tobin "Pat" Bay City, Michigan Mr. Tobin passed late Friday evening June 13, 2014 at his residence following a brief battle with cancer. Age of 83 years. The son of the late Edward A. and Robina (Connor) Tobin was born December 14, 1930 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of Grace Church , past president of the John Glenn Booster Club, graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1949. And proudly served his country from 1951 to 1953 in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Pat took great pride in his career and enjoyed the opportunity to work for Bay City Chevrolet for thirty eight years. He retired in 1986 as a superintendent and was very proud to say the "He never missed a day of work". Mr. Tobin had a great love for his family, attended many sporting events, was an avid wood worker and took tremendous pride in the appearance of his home and yard. In 1951 he married his wife the former Barbara A. Helber and she survives his passing along with three sons and three daughters-in-law; Kelly and Sue Tobin, Kent and Sharon Tobin and Brian and Debbie Tobin, eight grandchildren; Brad Tobin, Sara Tobin, Hilary (Brent) Gutzwiller, Kurt (Megan) Tobin,, David Tobin, Ryan Tobin, Kaitlyn Tobin and Kristen Tobin, one great grandchild, Liv Gutzwiller, one brother; Martin, Tobin, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; June Tobin, and Danny and Linda Helber and his nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother; Ed Tobin and one sister-in-law; Jackie Tobin. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Leonard A. Clevenger with interment following in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the Bay County Veterans Council.
