Patty-Ann F. Nichols, of Saginaw, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Covenant HealthCare following a lengthy illness, age 50. She was born on January 9, 1966 in Saginaw and has resided in the area since. Patty-Ann was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, attended Baker Junior College and earned an associate degree from Delta College. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. Patty-Ann enjoyed crafts and she loved to bake cookies, which everyone loved. A very caring person, she was someone you could always count on to help others. Patty-Ann was a good homemaker. All she ever wanted to be was a good mother, and she certainly was.
Patty-Ann is survived by her two sons, Nicholas Hockey and Joshua Nichols, both of Bridgeport; her grandson, Nicholas Hockey, Jr.; and her special little friend, Gabriella Maksin. She is also survived by her mother, Frances Gillig of Saginaw; her brother, Thomas (Michelle) Gillig of Swartz Creek; two nieces, Shannon Gillig and Taylor Gillig; aunts and uncles, Lyle Green, Jack Gillig, Deanna (Arnold) Bekemeier and Beverly Gillig; and many cousins and friends.
Patty-Ann was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Gillig in 2010; her grandparents, Petie and Frances Green and Alex and Sophie Gillig; and her uncles, Dan Gillig and Pete Green.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Rd., Bridgeport, MI 48722. Officiating will be Rev. William W. Hessler. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Wishes of the Family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.
