Paul Roland Pigeon, age 78, passed away peacefully after a long illness at Bay County Medical Care Facility in Essexville, MI on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
Paul was born on March 25, 1938 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late William Pigeon and Mary (Bugno) Pigeon. Paul was the youngest of 4 children, two of his older brothers, William and Arthur, have predeceased him, one surviving brother, Peter, who resides in Upper Michigan. On September 23, 1961 Paul married Shirley Jean Pigeon, who predeceased him in April of 2014.
After graduating from Sault High in 1956, Paul was a member of the US Navy from 1956 to 1960 and was honorably discharged. For the majority of Paul's working life he was employed at radio station WSGW as a Production Director until his retirement. Paul also owned/operated Bird Productions doing Ad work for local TV/Radio spots.
Together, Paul and his wife Shirley lived a very full and active life, they enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards, drinking wine, and visiting with family and friends. Favorite destinations were the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Las Vegas, Nevada. Paul was also a member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Paul is survived by one brother, Peter, and many nieces and nephews, and their families, who loved Paul very much.
Visitation will be at 1:30 pm, Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Gephart Funeral Home in Bay City, Michigan. The Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Joe Atchinson presiding.
Memorials can be made to the Bay County Medical Care Facility Activities Department in remembrance of Paul Pigeon.
