Mr. Paul John Ulbricht, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Auburn, MI, passed away Wednesday morning, August 5, 2015 at the Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, FL, age 86. The son of the late John A. and Dorothy C. (Lohrmann) Ulbricht, he was born on October 16, 1928 in Bay City. Paul served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1954, mostly aboard the U.S.S. Yosemite. He was a longtime member of Zion Beaver Lutheran Church. Paul retired from Dow Chemical Co. in Midland and was a lifetime blood donor of over 18 gallons. He was also an avid fisherman and loved to travel, spending quality time outside with nature and nighttime stargazing. Paul was an active volunteer at local hospitals and nursing homes, and spent time checking in on parolees. He enjoyed sports throughout his life, was an umpire for youth baseball for several years and even played on a over 70's baseball team.
Mr. Ulbricht is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Page of Pinconning. In 1950 Paul married the former Betty J. Vanneste and she preceded him in death in 1994. He was also preceded in death by his son, Kenneth E. Ulbricht in 1985.
It was Paul's desire for cremation to take place. A Celebration of Paul's Life has taken place with family and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.
