Peter Paul Chernavage

Chernavage, Peter Paul Bay City, Michigan Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Age 79 years. The son of the late Peter and Anna (Domahowski) Chernavage was born February 1, 1932 in Pennsylvania. Peter was a member St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and an avid antique car enthusiast. Mr. Chernavage is survived by his wife, Margaretha (Strieter) Chernavage whom he married May 20, 2006; ten children, Susan (Mike) White of Kawkawlin, Phillip Bowers of Lake, Michael (Blair) Chernavage of New Baltimore, Peter (Kris) Chernavage of Redford, Steven Chernavage of Farmington Hills, Linda (Jerry) Wolfe of Westland, Sheryl (Jerry) Petrusha of Wixom, Mary (Dennis) Kolpf of Bay City, David (Lori) Strieter of Bay City and George (Jo Ellen) Strieter of bay City; twenty two grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one brother, Joseph (Ester) Chernavage; two brothers-in-law, Albert Philipp and Emil (Lorna) Philipp both of Linwood. At the request of Mr. Chernavage cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe. Friends may call at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (706 W. Jane St., Bay City, MI 48706) on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for wishes of the family will be available at the church.
