Nickless, Phyllis M. (Bickford) of Bay City, Michigan passed away early Sunday morning January 29, 2012 at Bay Medical Care Facility at the age of 100 years. She was born July 10, 1911 in Napoleon, OH, then moved to Michigan at the age of four years and has resided in Bay City since 1948. Mrs. Nickless was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women where she had served as Past President and was an original member of the Quilters. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Patsy Ann and Michael Sullivan of Essexville, one son and daughter-in-law; Duane C. and Diane Nickless of Bay City, her grandchildren; Michael D. and Cyndi Sullivan, Todd Sullivan, Teri and Joseph Pietryga, Ashley and William Stevens II, Brian and Holly Nickless, Cathy and Brian Gehrman, Deanna and Michael Nesbitt, her great grandchildren; Shane, Callie and Riley Sullivan, Tara and Kayla Sullivan, Justin, Jacob and Lauren Pietryga, William III and Lisa Stevens , Kasandra Stevens and her fiancée Matt Johnson, Josh, Cole and Logan Nickless, Abby, Brady, Caitlin Gehrman, and Brendan and Sydney Nesbitt and many nieces and nephews. On March 31, 1934 she married Clare C. Nickless and he preceded her in death along with her parents; Oscar and Ida (Schatzer) Bickford, her daughter-in-law; Sandra Kay Nickless, one sister; Martha and three brothers; Lloyd, Irving and Robert. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bay Medical Care Facility and staff at 2 west for their compassion and care. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Carol M. Blair-Bouse and Rev. David A. Eardley with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Nickless will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
