Raymond Sidney Laney

Mr. Laney passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019 at his residence. Age 85 years. The son of the late Ray and Eleanor (Neuenfeldt) Laney was born April 9, 1934. Mr. Laney married his loving wife, Donna Smith on July 5, 1952 in Bay City, Michigan and they were happily married for 55 years. Mr. Laney owned Larry's Transmission with his two sons, Rich and Rod. After retirement he enjoyed farming and was an avid race car driver and enjoyed playing cards, singing, horseshoes and roller skating.

Mr. Laney is survived by seven children, Sharon (Marty) Shawl, Ricky (Karen) Laney, Sandy (Mark) McKellip, Deborah (James) Ratajczak, Richy (Julie) Laney, Dawn (Robert "Woody") Whitosky and Rodney (Tammy) Laney; eighteen grandchildren, Mike (Jenny) Musser, Raymond (Lisa) Musser, David (Rachel) Musser, Wesley (Leslie) Laney, Frances (Craig) Wenzel, Lesa Laney, Sean (Stacy) McKellip, Jonathan McKellip, Evan McKellip, Jenny Ratajczak, Jessica (Mike) Morrison, Josi (Tyler) Gurnee, Joshua (Ranae) Ratajczak, Gabe (Kate Gettel) Laney, Savannah Laney, Claire Laney, Rodney (Christina) Laney and Madison Laney; Thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Archie (Darlene) Laney; Two Sisters, Ruth Dunfee and Janet (Bob) Arnold and brother-in-law Monty (Joyce) Smith. In addition to his parents Mr. Laney is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Donna Laney; three sisters, Lucille Tucker, Shirly Tucker and Dorothy Hartley; brother, LaVern Laney; two grandchildren, Jacob Ratajczak , Mariah Laney and son-in-law, Ron Musser; three brothers-in-law, Jonny Tucker, Robert Tucker and John Hartley and sister-in-law Judy Laney.

Per Mr. Laney Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Friday, September 6, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to The Wishes of the Family. For online condolences.
