Rev. Steven Korth passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 67 years. Steven was born on April 26, 1951 to the late Gilbert and Dorothy Korth. In 1969 he graduated from Northwestern Prep and then graduated from Northwestern College in 1973. In 1977, after serving a year as a Vicar at St. Paul Church in Tacoma, WA, he graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He was assigned to serve a new mission in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1979 he accepted the call to serve Mt. Olive Lutheran Church of Bay City. On June 26, 1977 he was married to Anne Rakos.
Steven is survived by his children, Sarah Lamb, Mary (John) Harris, Katherine, Samuel and Laura (Austin) Ziche; grandchildren, Grace and Amelia Lamb, Laurelei, Emalynn, Ezra and Oscar Harris; brothers and sisters, Richard (Karen), Jeffrey (Sherry), Michael (Beth) and Andrew Korth. In addition to his parents, Steven was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Rev. Mark Lindner.
At the request of Steven cremation has taken place, a memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastors Terry Balogh and Marcus Manthey. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
