Richard "Dick" Grant Hartley

Richard “Dick” Hartley passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Hoyt Nursing Home, in the care of Elara Caring Hospice in Saginaw at the age of 86. Dick was a retired stone, Mason. He bricked many fine homes, churches, and many amazing very unique stone fireplaces.

Richard was born to Eugene and Grace (Ingalls) Hartley of Bay City on April 2, 1938. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Gladys (Baase) Hartley March of 2020 whom he was married to for 64 years. Prior to her death. He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Donald Hartley at the age of 63 in April 2021. Richard is survived by his children, Jean Lynch, Robert Hartley, Debbie (Kevin) Schmidt, Doug (Carol) Hartley, and Dennis Hartley. Dick was blessed with thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

At the request of Richard, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to wishes of the family.
