Richard passed away early, Monday morning July 29, 2019 at Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center Palliative in Saginaw, at the age of 82 years. The son of the late Emery and Dorothy (Madigan) Manor was born on December 14, 1936 in Bay City, Michigan. He was a longtime member of Visitation Catholic Church now called Our Lady of Peace Parish. Richard graduated from Visitation High School in 1955 and was active in all sports. In 2017 he was inducted into the Bay County Sports Hall of Fame Parochial Schools. He was part of the coaching staff for the 1965 championship Visitation Panthers High School Football team. Richard started his career as a fireman at Bay Refinery and then on to retire from Brown Machine.  He loved spending time with his family and his little girl, Lexi his German short hair pointer. He enjoyed golfing, camping, gardening and attending local sporting events. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. During this time he played on the 1st CAV Bulldogs championship football team.
Left behind to cherish his memories is his wife Mary Whyte Manor son, David Manor; step-daughter, Stacy (Dennis) Mindykowski; Stephen's longtime partner, Kim Dawes; grandchildren, Sara (Matt) Lampka, Morgan and Taylor Pajka, Chase, Austin and Dalton Manor; several great grandchildren; brother, Ken (Marge) Manor, many nieces and nephews; his special friends, Luke Schatzer, Bruce Neitzel, James Whyte, Gloria Woods and Larry LaMere. In addition to his parent he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Manor, his step son, Stephen Whyte and his granddaughter, Brittany Severy. The family would like to extend a special thank you to staff of the Palliative Care at the V.A. Hospital for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received during his time of need.
The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council and the U.S. Army. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John Sarge. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday to receive family and friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Richard will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Bay County Veterans Council or the Humane Society of Bay County.
