Richard D. Pringle

Richard passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 12, 2024 in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the age of 67. He was born on April 24, 1957 to the late Richard E. and Joyce (Reinhardt) Pringle in Bay City, Michigan.

He graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1975, after which he joined the U.S. Marines. Later in life received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwood University. Richard had a successful career in IT auditing and as an internet security systems engineer, where he won several awards. He was respected by his colleagues for his dedication and work ethic.

Richard enjoyed “Jeeping”, fixing Jeeps, and he even built a Jeep wrangler from scratch. He loved carpentry and building things for his family, working outside in his yard, and sunbathing with coconut tanning lotion. He had a passion for playing “DOOM” on his computer, 3D printing, piano, bowling, genealogy research, and coffee. His dad jokes endeared him to many. 

Richard was a kind-hearted and diligent individual who always put his family first. His sense of humor and generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He will be remembered for his unwavering support, love, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Richard is survived by his wife of over 38 years, MaryBeth (Santhany) Pringle, whom he married on August 10, 1985. He is also survived by his children, Rachelle (Robert) Maass, Richard (Justine) Pringle II, Tiffany Pringle and Adam Pringle; grandchildren, Chloe, Charlotte, Richard III, Lincoln, Arthur and Douglas; siblings, Gail (Tom) Laframboise, David Pringle and Jennifer Pringle; several nieces and nephews and best friend, Walcott Denison III. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Pringle.

Military Honors for Richard will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home with a Funeral Service to follow. The burial will take place immediately following the service at Buena Vista Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service.
