Richard "Rick" L. Ball

Rick passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Bay City Comfort Care at the age of 75. The son of the late Stanley and Ruby (Battenfield) Ball was born July 21, 1948 in Standish, Michigan. Rick served in the U.S. Navy and worked as an electrical engineer for GM and Newcor, where he was the head of the engineering department. Rick enjoyed woodworking, carving, spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Rick and his wife Kathryn built their dream home in Fife Lake where they enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. In retirement they split the year between Bay City and Punta Gorda, Florida.

Rick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathryn Ball; two daughters, Lisa (Scott) MacGregor and Jennifer (Tom) Verellen; three grandchildren, Morgan (Nate) Milkowski, Zachary Verellen and Lauren Verellen; one great granddaughter, Ellison Milkowski; one sister, Kay (Bob) Coggins; two nieces and his special friends, Rande and Billie LaPrairie.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be E.J. Brown. Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
