Mr. Richard R. "Rick" Toureau, of Hampton Twp., Bay City, MI, passed away early Monday morning October 28, 2013 at McLaren-Bay Region at the age of 66 years. He was born July 31, 1947 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. Rick retired from General Motors Co.-Bay City Powertrain as a machine operator and was a member of the U.A.W. Local # 362. Rick proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and received many honorable metals including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantrymans Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, a Purple Heart, Bronze Star. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, bowling and golf. Left behind to cherish his memories are his children; Terrence (Renee) Toureau and Chrys Cobley and her fiancée Geoffrey Hoff, five grandchildren; Hannah Cobley, Tyler Stanley, Hayden Cobley, Victoria Toureau and Sawyer Toureau, two brothers and two sisters-in-law; Norm (Ann) Hillier-Toureau, Mitch Toureau and Barbara "Cookie" Toureau and his nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents; Kenneth and Irene (Jose) Toureau and one brother; Timothy Toureau. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday October 31, 2013 at 12:00 O'clock Noon at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. 201 W. Midland St. Bay City, MI 48706. Officiating will be Rev. David Dunn followed by Military Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at 2:30 p.m. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Wednesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for the Bay County Veterans Council will be available at the funeral home.
