Richard Lee Schultz Bay City, Michigan Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away Friday evening December 9, 2016 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, MI. Age 83 years. He was born February 4, 1933 in Avon, SD. He retired as a senior sales Engineer from Wright-K Technologies. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 439. Richard had a passion for classic cars, enjoyed music, old movies and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. On January 12, 1990 he married the former Carolynn Gagnon and she is left to cherish his memories along with his two sons; Doug (Debbie) Schultz of Saginaw and Don (Connie) Schultz of Hemlock, four grandchildren; Kallee, Jordan, Jacob and Macy Schultz, one great granddaughter; Aleigha Schultz, his brothers and sisters; Tom (Margaret) Schultz of Lake Placid, FL, Judy Chase of Troy, MI, Terry and Nancy Schultz of Saginaw, Sharon (Terri Monahan)Schultz of Saginaw, sisters-in-law; Joyce Ostrander, and Bonnie Gagnon many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Jonas and Marie Schultz and his loving cats; Francis Albert and Tigger Boy. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Veterans Administration Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the compassionate and loving care they provided for Mr. Schultz during the time they cared for him. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish 2956 E. N. Union Bay City, MI 48706. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John Sarge. Members of the United States Army and the Bay County Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors following the Mass. The family will be present at the church on Saturday to receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Good Samaritan Rescue Mission of Bay City or Special Olympics.
