Richard E. Soderquist

Richard passed away early Monday morning, January 9, 2017 at Bay Shores Nursing Home. Age 70 years. He was born December 23, 1946 in Bay City. He retired from General Motors Corporation in Defiance, Ohio. Richard was an avid carver of duck decoys and he also carved fish. He was a long time member of the Michigan Duck Hunters Association. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Left behind to cherish his memories are one daughter, Carey (Mike) Luczak; one grandson, Logan Luczak; his mother, Elaine Soderquist; two brothers, John and David Soderquist. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip John Soderquist; his uncle, Robert Rigel and his grandparents. At the request of Richard, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
