Richard passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Sheffield Bay Assisted Living at the age of 85. The son of the late Floyd and Leona (Sampson) Wiesen was born November 25, 1938 in Bay City, Michigan. Richard was a master Euchre player and a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and served as their treasurer. Richard was retired from General Motors as a skilled tradesman and enjoyed doing yardwork, fishing and watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, Lions and U of M.
Richard is survived by his children, Johanne (Richard Allen) Luth, Mark (Angela) Wiesen, Marcia (Allen) Rabideau and Mary (Reggie Hooks) Wiesen; grandchildren, Lynsi Luth, Jordan (Courtney) Kreh, Madison Rabideau, Emily and Thomas Wiesen, Richard Cieslinski and Amie (Pete) Newman; one sister, Diane (Tom) Obermiller and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Wiesen, daughter, Deborah and her husband, Ronald Cieslinski; son, Earl Schatzer and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral and Committal services will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Paul E. Schaewe with private interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will take place at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church will be available.
