Rita Jane Lagalo

Our loving, compassionate, caring, understanding, and most patient mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, August 13, 2017. Rita was born in Bay City on April 14, 1939, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Nestor) Ryers. Always putting others before herself, Rita worked for many years in child care. Her family was her pride and joy, and she devoted her entire life to them. She leaves to carry on her legacy, her four children; Arthur "A.J." Lagalo (Barbara Knight), Nan Hammond, Roxanne O'Leary, and Todd (Kathleen) Lagalo. Rita was the loving and supportive grandma of Nicole Lagalo, Michael Lagalo, Alicia (Jamie) Johnson, Lauren Lagalo, Brynn Lagalo, Corrie (Erik) Schliker, Natasha O'Leary (Donavin Justice), David Gibson, Brandon (Gina) Lagalo, Kayla (Craig) Anderson, Amanda Lagalo, Meagan (Adam) Sponseller and Benjamin Dardas. Rita is also survived by many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Rita was welcomed home to heaven by her brother, Robert Ryers. Funeral services will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 with Pastor Michael Wood officiating. Friends and family can visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
