Robert Maynard Donnelly Bay City, Michigan Mr. Donnelly passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at his residences at the age of 76 years. The son of the late Robert W. and Marguerite (Maxwell) Donnelly was born December 29, 1936 in Bay City, Michigan. Mr. Donnelly attended St. Albans Episcopal Church. Mr. Donnelly served in the U.S. Air Force for 14 years serving in Vietnam and then served with the U.S. Army and retired after 16 years serving his country for a combined total of 30 years. Mr. Donnelly then went to work for G.M. Powertrain Bay City Plant and then to Saginaw Steering Gear where he retired from. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, he also enjoyed fishing, and hunting, playing cards especially smear. Mr. Donnelly also was an avid Detroit Lions and Detroit Red Wings Fan. Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years the former Josiane Germaine Alix whom her married May 5, 1957 in France. Also surviving is one son: Robert John Donnelly residing Bay City, one daughter; Ruth Ann Hayes retired from the U.S. Navy residing in Atlanta, GA.,his daughter-in-law; Karen Doolin,his grandchildren; Robert C. Donnelly and his wife; Ashley Aikens and James H. Donnelly, his great grandchildren; Tristan and Teianna Donnelly, Audrey and Parker Donnelly and Emma Sauer, one brother; Herbert Donnelly, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Helen Peterson, Florence and John Reynolds, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter; Joanne Donnelly, his sister-in-law; Patricia Donnelly and his brother-in-law; Lawrence Peterson. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alban Episcopal Church. Officiating will be Pastor Nancy Steele followed by burial and Military Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers Memorial Cards for Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
