Robert George

Robert went to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the age of 66 yrs. He was born in Bay City, Michigan on March 15, 1957, to the late Rose and John George, Sr.
With a heart full of compassion and empathy, Bob touched the lives of all those around him. He was known for his forgiving nature and kindness towards others. These remarkable qualities endeared him to everyone he met and left an indelible mark on their hearts.
Bob found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to shoot hoops, go bowling, play golf, and reading his bible became his favorite past time.
But above all else, Bob’s unwavering faith in God guided every aspect of his life. He was committed to the Lord and made it a point to attend church every Sunday. His deep rooted spirituality provided him with strength during difficult times and served as a guiding light throughout his life.
For 20 years, Bob dedicated himself to serving as a Maintenance professional at Bangor Township School. His commitment to his work shone brightly as he tirelessly ensured that the school environment was safe and conducive to learning for countless students. He took great pride in maintaining the facility with meticulous care.

In addition to his professional career, Robert had the honor of serving as a Private in the Army. Awarded Top Transport Driver during his time in service, he had the rare privilege of chauffeuring President Gerald Ford around his barracks. This experience left an indelible mark on Bob’s life and contributed to his patriotism.

As we honor Bob’s memory, let us draw inspiration from his faith. “Blessed are those who mourn since they will be comforted” (Matthew 5:4). Though our hearts ache as we say goodbye to our beloved brother, may he find eternal peace in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.
Bob is survived by sisters Patricia (Norman) Schnell; Barb (Dave) Ramos; Roseann George; Beverly Huff; Gladys Spyhalski; brother John George, Jr; and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded by his brother Andrew George, sister Elaine Gerard and brother-in-laws Norman Schnell and Richard Spyhalski. Although we mourn the loss of Andrew, Elaine, Norman, and Richard let us remember them fondly as they join Bob in eternal peace.
In honor of Bob’s remarkable life and contributions to those around him, visitation will take place on Thursday, February 15 at Gephart Funeral Home from 10:00am to 1:15 pm with Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council will start at 1:15 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1:30pm. After the memorial service burial will take place at Cedar Valley Cemetery in Twining, Michigan.
Bob leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. Although he will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have encountered his warm smile and gentle soul. Rest in eternal peace brother, until we meet again.
