Robert Vincent Gontko

Gontko, Robert Vincent Essexville, Michigan Mr. Gontko passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his residence in Essexville. Age 75 years. The son of the late Alex Joseph and Marguerite Ethel (Princing) Gontko was born September 22, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. He retired from General Motors- Bay City Plant as a machinist, was a member of the U.A. W. Local 362 and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time planting flowers, was a home theater enthusiast and loved his dogs. He is survived by three children; Kristina L. and Benny Perez of Essexville, Scott R.V. Gontko of Bay City and Eric J. Gontko of Bay City, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and the family is expecting the sixth great grandchild. He is also survived by one sister Elaine and Bill Schmidt of Auburn, one brother; Lane and Wendy Gontko of Auburn and his dog Coco. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother; Eugene Gontko. A graveside service will take place Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 11 Mile Rd Pinconning MI 48650. Officiating will be Mary Ann Helie under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the "Wishes of the Family"
